Using beauty products is not new. Women have been seeking ways to beautify themselves since time began. Eve started it when she 'sewed fig leaves together'. Probably about the same time she started looking around at the fruits and plants in the Garden of Eden for ways to keep her skin, body, and hair soft, smooth, and sweet smelling.
Oats and other Grains Although oats did not become a grain crop as early as wheat or barley, the plants grew wild for centuries. Horticulturists think that modern oats developed from the wild oats. This probably happened in Asia Minor, although oat grains found in Egypt are from 4000 years ago. Cultivated oats have been found in Swiss caves and dated to the Bronze Age. Oats are not specifically mentioned in the Bible, although many other grains are.
A few places where grains are mentioned in the Bible are: Barley (Deuteronomy 8:8; Ezekiel 4:9) Corn (Matthew 12:1; KJV - refers to "grain" such as wheat or barley) Millet (Ezekiel 4:9) Spelt (Ezekiel 4:9) Wheat (Ezra 6:9; Deuteronomy 8:8) A Bible commentary will help you find other citations. |
It probably goes without saying, but if you are allergic to an ingredient in these natural beauty products, please do not try them!
