Easy
Three Kings Wine Cake
1 pkg. yellow cake
mix
3 eggs
1/3 c. oil
½ c. wine (alcohol
will cook out leaving just the flavor)
½ c. water
1 c. chopped nuts
(pecans, almonds, walnuts)
Grease and flour a
Bundt pan. Beat cake mix, eggs, oil and liquid together as for a normal
cake. Stir ½ cup of nuts into batter. Sprinkle remaining nuts in bottom
of the pan. Pour cake batter into pan. Bake at 350o 45-50
minutes, or until it tests done. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Invert onto
cooling rack. Cool completely. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
Some people celebrate the coming of the Magi on January 6 with a special
cake. There are many recipes and you can put a bean in the cake after it
is cooked. The person that gets the bean is supposed to have good luck
all year.
